MAC Strength collection lipsticks!!!

Happy New Year!!!

I decided to do a post on this instead of a video. I thought it would be better to do so. The lipsticks are the only items I purchased from this collection. I had no interest of getting anything else. All of the lipsticks were matte…HELLLLOOOOO???!!!  That’s so my kind of lipstick!

I waited until I wore all of the lipsticks to do this post! So, now I can show how it looks on me. 🙂

Here is Pink Pigeon:

This lipstick was the most coveted one. I went H.A.M. and purchased a few, LOL. I just LOVE blue-pinks! Since it was matte, I had to get my hands on it. It came out early last year and I missed out on it, so I made sure that didn’t happen again. The texture is kinda strange in terms of application, but I’m gonna see how it looks using a lip brush…or my lips being a lot more moisturized, LOL.

Here’s Strong Woman lipstick:

This is a violet color with a red undertone. This was said to be very similar or even a dupe to Heroine lipstick, but I disagree. Heroine seems to be more of a blue-undertoned purple and is actually a lil’ darker. Here’s how Heroine lipstick looks (look below)

Here’s how Heroine lipstick looks on me to see the difference. And now, here’s Absolute Power:

It’s hard to pass up on a matte red lipstick and I heard that this is close to how “Charmed, So Sure” lipstick looks. (From the Marilyn Monroe collection.) It’s a nice deep red and it’s quite perfect for the Fall/Winter. Yum!!! It’s not Ruby Woo, though…LOL

Next is Firm Form lipstick:

Forget that I look homely in this picture, but anyway…this lipstick is quite unique. I don’t have anything like this. It’s matte in texture, but has a sparkly finish as well. It’s supposed to be black with gold sheen, but if you look closely, it kind of looks like a reeeeeally dark plum color…with gold sheen. Or it could simply be the color of my lips that makes it appear a really dark plum. I got it only because it’s unique. ‘NOT for the faint of heart!!!

And lastly…heeeere’s Party Parrot lipstick:

PartyParrot

This has to be my favorite of the bunch. I put the lipstick on, blotted it with toilet paper and fell in love…and then wondered why I only got ONE of this. *cries* It’s a really beautiful coral matte lipstick. It goes on creamy, but blotting it will make it a lot more matte. This lipstick also came out in the past. As a matter of fact, it was the same collection as Pink Pigeon. I’m seriously in love with the color. I actually love it more than Pink Pigeon. A lot more. Makes me wish I got multiples of THIS, instead of Pink Pigeon. It’s okay. I will go on a hunt for another one, LOL.

Here’s my “Instagram’ed” version of the same pic:

Don’t you love filters? I sure do.

Alrighty…that wraps it up for my post. I actually like all of the lipsticks, but my personal favorites are Party Parrot and Pink Pigeon.

Did anyone other than myself purchase these lipsticks? If so, what did you get and what did you think?

  1. I purchased 3 Pink Pigeon (because I love pink lips), 2 Party Parrot, 2 Strong Woman and 1 each of the other colors. I waited for your review before opening the boxes. I will wear Pink Pigeon first to see if I have to return the other two. Thanks for the review.

    • You’re welcome! 🙂

If you decide that you don’t want to keep the other Pink Pigeons, I hope you give them away to a MAC addict instead, LOL. I say that because MAC throws out returned products, even if the boxes weren’t opened. I know folks were SERIOUSLY trying to get their hands on it. All that gorgeous blue-pinkness will be gone to waste!!!! I hope you end up liking Pink Pigeon, LOL! All the lipsticks are really nice, though. 🙂
