Once again I’m sharing products that I’ve been reaching for the most, these past few weeks. Here are the products that I’ve been lovin’ lately!!!
This is pretty much the perfect setting powder for my concealer (Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer), as I stated in a past post about the Banana powder. This time, I purchased the smallest size (1.5 oz.) and it is PERFECT for personal use. (I decided to add the 3oz. size of my Camel and Banana shades to my kit.) Since Banana is currently too light for my complexion, Beige Suede does the job…especially without making the concealer too dark. It’s basically a holy grail powder for me.

I received this at the Beauty Blogger Preview event at the Makeup Show this year, and I’m so happy that I came across this product. This oil-based makeup remover is wonderful! It literally melts the makeup off my face. Even if a drop falls on it, no makeup (even waterproof) will stand a chance with this product. I usually apply it and then massage it in my skin and then wipe it off with makeup wipes. Clean. Then I finish it off by washing my face. I noticed that I don’t even HAVE to wash my face because it really removed all of the makeup. I’m definitely repurchasing after I finish this, and I am almost done!!!

For as long as I’ve been wearing face primers, they’ve mostly been just okay to me. I’ve pretty much been using Hourglass’ Veil Mineral primer, but mostly to mix with my Kevyn Aucoin SSE…but that was until I came across this gem. I also received this product at the Beauty Blogger event at the Makeup Show, and I am so thankful that this was given to me, because I wouldn’t have known about this otherwise…and that would’ve been a shame. I haven’t tried it for a few months until I finally decided to see what it’s about. Since I’ve been wearing it underneath my foundation, I found that my oils weren’t coming out as much. At first I thought it was just because the weather was becoming cooler. Then a few days ago I learned something…that day I forgot to put on primer and put on my usual face. About 2-3 hours later those oils were coming through and I haven’t seen that in a while. THAT’S how I knew that this primer actually works. It also keeps my makeup (foundation) last pretty long. That’s a wonder for my oily skin. Now I actually have a primer that works and when I’m finished with this, I’ll also be repurchasing this. I dunno y’all…Dermalogica is doing some great things!!! It’s making me wanna check out more of their products, since I love two of them already!!! 🙂
I love the fact that these brushes (in general) work so well and they’re affordable!!! I have several brushes by this company, but lately I’ve been faithfully using the Expect Face Brush, The Setting Brush and the Blush Brush. The Expert Face brush is good for liquid and cream foundations. (ESPECIALLY cream foundations!) I found that it blends the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer much easier, when not mixed with anything like a primer or a moisturizer. I’ve mentioned that it’s not the easiest to use without mixing it with something, but this brush does a great job solving that. The Setting Brush I use to apply powder to set my concealer underneath my eye. It’s a perfect size and it’s tapered enough to catch the inner corner of my eye. It can be used to set powder in certain places on your face, as well. ‘Just a great brush. The Blush Brush has become my holy grail brush to apply blush. I love how it blends powder blush like a dream, and the way that the brush is designed, it works with the curves of your face. The Pixiwoo sisters really did a great job!!!
First, let me just say that I LOVE that these brushes have purple handles, LOL!!! (My favorite color.) These are another set of brushes that perform quite well. I remember Tina from The Fancy Face using these brushes, and I was told by my beauty blogger buddies how good these brushes are…so that lead me to purchase the ones that sparked my interest. I have several, but lately I’ve been using the D225, S125 and S130 faithfully. The D225 is what I use to apply eyeshadow to my lid. It’s like a bigger version of MAC’s 239 brush. Since my eyeballs are pretty huge, I found that this size suits my lids the best. It does a great job picking up product and packing it on the lid. Love it! I’ve even tried going back to the MAC 239 brush, and ended up coming back to my beloved D225!!!
This is another gem I received from the Beauty Blogger event! Another “thank goodness I came across this” product! When I needed to quickly clean my brushes, this was the product to use!!! It not only cleans but also disinfects, and I personally really like the scent. I like citrus-type of scents! It might be a bit overbearing for some, but it doesn’t bother me. It does a great job cleansing brushes quickly, and I can see why makeup artists have this in their kit. It’s verrrrry useful. I will also purchase this in the future, when I’m finished and also for my kit.
Soooo that wraps it up for what I’m lovin’ lately! I might end up doing this as a monthly (or bi-monthly) type of thing. Since I’ve actually been using new products or just experimenting with ones I haven’t really got the chance to use, it makes doing this type of post more often, possible. I guess I can call this post my “November Favorites!”
Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this post and even found it helpful!
