#TMSNYC2015 (Day 1)

Well…here it is! My time at this year’s Makeup Show – NYC! I will be dividing this into two parts since I attended on both dates.

Day One: May 3rd

I came in the building to see this:

As soon as I checked in, I proceeded to start my day! The setup of the booths were quite different this year. Honestly, I’m not a fan of the setup because I felt it made things more congested. This was proven when I attended the NARS booth. OMG, there was soooooo many people on that doggone line. (And NO ONE seems to have manners.) I decided to come earlier than usual to avoid the mass of people…and it seems like everyone had the same idea. #FAIL. Anywho, I made my purchase at the NARS counter (and did the most damage there.)

Here’s their lovely foundation!

I then walked around to check out the other booths.

IMG_7453 Some makeup brands made their first appearance at the Makeup Show. One being Kat Von D! I was excited to visit this booth.IMG_7455

One of Kat Von D’s gems…her Everlasting Liquid Lipstick. I ❤ these lipsticks.

I attended a keynote by Michael Devillis! He talked about networking (as makeup artists) and how to actually approach makeup artists in order to develop a working relationship with them. Very educational.IMG_7461 I then walked around some more and saw James Vincent being interviewed. Love him!IMG_7465

The book “The Makeup Show – 10 Years in the Makin”. I wish I was able to get my hands on it. 😦

I then attended a seminar by International Makeup Artist for NARS, Uzo entitled “I’m With The Brand”. We learned a little about her life and how she became a makeup artist. She was in medical school and basically…it didn’t do anything for her, meaning she wasn’t feeling it. She became a makeup artist, which did not please her parents at all. But here she is!!! She also taught us how to do classic looks (using NARS products of course).IMG_7470Here is the finished look of the first model. She used their Light Optimizing Primer, their Multiple in South Beach, their All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation (in Macao) and their Velvet Lip Pencil in Nihiwatu and Exhibit A blush (as a lip color!)

I had the model turn to the side. This was absolutely gorgeous.

It even looked “official” in flash.

This model, she used their Pore Refining Primer, their Sheer Glow foundation and also their Multiple in South Beach.

Beautiful and even skin!!!

Then I came across some 3D body art. This was SO COOL!!! He gave us glasses to see how true it is! LOL. Violet Moss created this:IMG_7479 More body art!!! This was also cool:IMG_7481IMG_7482Check out the detail, here! I’m gonna need one of these artists this Summer, when I go to beach and wear my bikini!IMG_7484

Lastly, I came across Surratt Beauty‘s makeup line! They have awesome products. Unfortunately, they were only showcasing products and were not selling, but at least we go to see what good things they’re offering.

Well, that wraps it up for my “Day One” post. Stay tuned for the second (and last) post about this event.

  1. I love reading about your experiences at these shows. Those Nars photos are beautiful. Can’t wait for you to do the the blush on the lips tip.

  2. I am so glad you were able to go to the makeup show and thank you so much for sharing your impressions/ day there. Were you also at the blogger event? I always loved the seminars as they were so educational!! It must have been frustrating to see so many people at the Nars line…ugh! hahaha 🙂

    • I did not go to the blogger event. I didn’t even hear anything about it. I guess only certain people were invited.

Yes, the NARS line had me so over it!
