What I’m Lovin’ Lately: (April + May)

Here we go!!!

Sacha Cosmetics Buttercup Powder

I’ve been hearing so much about this, so of course I had to give it a try! It’s supposed to be the darker ladies’ version of Ben Nye Banana Powder…and it pretty much is. It is a light yellow, but what’s different about this is the yellow is much more rich and warm, therefore not giving major flashback or ash. The Ben Nye Banana Powder is more beige (which is why I believe it’s too ashy). The texture of Buttercup is also much more silky (which is perfect for underneath the eyes) and it sets well. I’ve used it to also set my foundation, but I personally prefer to use this specifically underneath the eyes. When I receive my pressed version, I will use that for my foundation!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Concealer

I use this every single day…to give my brows a decent shape and as a highlighter. (I prefer to use concealer instead of an eye shadow as a brow highlight. I feel that it looks more natural.) Until I get my brows in check, I will be rocking “concealer brows”. Hey, at least it’s not fifty shades lighter than my skin tone.

Make-Up Atelier Paris Corrector

This is a pretty good corrector. Anything that is orange or salmon-colored will cancel out the ugly darkness underneath my eyes. This gets the job done. I was first introduced to this company when I took Kevin James Bennett’s class. He applied the tube form on me. I knew I had to have it…but I got the pot instead (at IMATS). It’s all good…I’ll still get the tube in the future.

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Blushed Copper

I had to get my hands on this as soon as I could! I use this as blush, because it would be too dark to use as a highlighter above my cheeks. It is a gorgeous reddish-copper color. The texture is so smooth and it’s very pigmented so apply sparingly, please!!!

Melt Cosmetics Eye Shadow Stacks

DarkMatterThere are two stacks, but lately I’ve been using Dark Matter. I especially love to line my bottom lash line with Dark Matter e/s (black) and blend it out with Unseen e/s (brown). I’ve been doing that a LOT lately. These shadows are perfect for “work” or “everyday”…shoot, even the “night out”. I love that these shadows are HUGE. Totally worth the money! I hope more colors are in the works. (hint, hint Ms. Lora and Ms. Dana!)

MAC Kohl Power in Feline (An oldie but goodie!)

I recently found a BRAND NEW ONE in my house (that means I have too much doggone makeup. TEW MURCH!!), so this is what I use to line my waterline. I just wish it didn’t smudge as much as it does. I’m gonna try the “adding black eye shadow to set” trick. But this pencil is pretty much #Bae…it’s sooooooo dark! ‘Just how I like it! 🙂

Pur Minerals Big Look Lengthening Mascara

Another item I purchased at the makeup show! It is a damned good mascara. It makes my lashes POP. I have a hard time spending boatloads of money on mascara, anyway. But this stuff is goodt. (Yes, there’s a “t” after good.) I had to get two!!!

Tarte Clean Slate Poreless 12-hr Pore Perfecting Primer

This was a surprise! (It seems like the most surprises come from primers. LOL) I’ve used this product a few times in the past, but when I used in on Memorial Day, it really helped my foundation to last long. (It was hot, too!…and I was also sweating a bit!) I was impressed. This will definitely stay in my rotation of primers.

NARS Aqua Gel Luminous Oil-Free Moisturizer

I purchased this at the Makeup Show (hello, discounted price!) and I pretty much love it. Gel moisturizers work for my prone-to-oily skin type. Since it’s getting warmer outside, this is perfect because it’s a light consistency. It doesn’t leave my skin greasy, but definitely moisturized enough!

Cozzette S165 Large Eve Contour brush

I looooove this brush! I picked up this gem at IMATS. Lately, I’ve been using it to apply setting powder underneath my eyes. It’s pretty much perfect. I also love to use it to apply a wash of color on my eyelids. It’s big enough to cover my eye socket.

Tarte Retoucher Flawless Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush

I use this brush to apply my NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation and it works like a charm! It is a dense brush, so it blends the foundation wonderfully. I can imagine it also blending cream foundations wonderfully, as well.

Wayne Goss Brush 02

I love this brush! I’ve been using it every day! I love to use it to set my foundation with powder, to contour, and also to set my under-eye concealer with powder. I’ve also used it to bronze my face…love it!

And I still have some past favorites as my current faves such as NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation, NARS Radiant Creamy concealer, Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer, etc. Thank you for reading my post on my current faves!!! 🙂
